Est. 1963
Let’s meet at the station when
your bus pulls in. The town will talk,
and we’ll both listen and laugh —
head straight for Sam’s Bar, est. 1963;
only bar open on Sundays in this town.
We’ll stretch the truth like taffy, slam
shots until the moon bullies the sun
from the sky. Skip the formalities —
cut right to the good stuff: drunken
nights under stars, clothes tossed;
get the starting over started before reality
and common sense settle in. Second
chances are sexy, right? We must be
the sexiest couple on earth — or, at least
in Sam’s — where talk is cheap and drinks
are gospel on Sundays.
